Man Escapes From Hospital After Local Sentence
A man sentenced in Jackson Circuit Court to life for the holdup beating of an elderly Salem couple escaped Monday from a Michigan City hospital. The escape followed a prior 1963 conviction and a June attempt to flee, ending with pursuit after he left a third floor room. He was recaptured after a car crash near Paoli.
