Everett H. Giddings of Crothersville died at 1 10 morning at Methodist Hospital Indianapolis after a nine month illness. Funeral services set for Sunday at 2 from Crothersville Methodist Church with Rev. David M Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Crothersville Cemetery. He was a sales worker and active in church and town government. He was born October 12 1888 in Jefferson county son of James and Elizabeth Miles Giddings. Survived by widow Mary Shepherd and three children Frances Rider Jonathan Giddings and Dorothy Page plus brothers Joseph Charles Frank Giddings Guy Giddings and a sister Mary Giddings.

Brownstown Lighted Christmas Displays Attract Many
Seymour residents travel to Brownstown to view elaborate outdoor lights and trees, and hear nightly organ recitals broadcast over the Browns town public address system. The Brownstown Presbyterian Church hosts the event with sponsorship from the Brownstown Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. R. S. Robertson and Miss Madeline Findley performed Monday and will join to perform again tonight with Mrs. E. L. Kieffer slated for Saturday.

Santa Helpers Busy as Beams of Christmas Cheer

The Leckermeier Market opens a new air conditioned grocery store at the southeast corner of Tipton and O'Brien streets in Seymour. The building by William J. Abraham and Sons features Italian marble and semi self service with Frigidaires and display cases. Santa Claus will attend the opening with candies for children and refreshments for guests. The store replaces the former Leckermeier grocery and is affiliated with United Buyers Corporation of Chicago and San Francisco, sponsored by Louisville Grocery Company. A service station will operate in connection. A giant eight foot long bologna sausage display is planned as a highlight.

Roosevelt Accepts Budget Deficit Outlook For 1940
Washington sources say President Roosevelt accepts a near 3.0 to 3.6 billion deficit in the 1940 budget.
