Monday Night City Council Session Retains Annexation Move
The Seymour city council held a brief session on Monday night with acting mayor J B Shepard. They rejected a Public Service Company bill for 328.34 dollars for wiring Shields Park and fair wiring. They began first steps for west Elm Street annexation and instructed the engineer to prepare valuations and an ordinance. The council rescinded action on the Emerson drive 12 inch sewer after a remonstrance by 58 percent of property owners. The engineer reported completion of cleaning the Von Fange ditch and settling with the contractor FE S Stanfield & Son. John Hauvenschild was authorized to pay bills up to December 1931 to keep records straight for 1932. F F Buhner Co was allowed to install an oil tank at Tipton and Jeffersonville. No reply from Engineering Service Co regarding Seymour Water Co.

Hobo Trio Pleads Guilty in Jackson Robbery Case
Three youths Lee Holles James Fry and Carl Jones changed their pleas from not guilty to guilty in Jackson circuit court before Judge John Branaman. Holles received one to five years in the state reformatory plus a 1 fine and five year disfranchisement. Fry and Jones were each sentenced to one to ten years in the reform school for the robbery of John Maschino near the hobo camp recently destroyed.

White Christmas Hopes Fade as Weather Forecast Favors Mild Days

Two Shot Dead at Vernon House Murder Suicide Suspected
Neighbors broke into the farm home of Charles Hamant southwest of Vernon late Monday to find Hamant and his friend Everett Kellow forty five shot to death. Sheriff Banister of Jennings County says Hamant murdered Kellow perhaps in a drunken rage and then killed himself. The bodies lay on a table in the dim lamp light.

In Belfast Mrs Sarah Rodger 55 an American from Coleraine County Berry died aboard the liner Tuscania after a mid ocean storm last week. She was returning to Ireland for Christmas after thirty years in the United States employed as a cook for the Robert Mc Bratney Linen Firm in New York. The death certificate lists hemorrhage as the cause.

Six Year Old Marian McLean Abducted and Killed
The six year old Marian McLean was abducted while playing outside and later found murdered in a basement. Medical examiners cited shock and hemorrhage from criminal assault as the cause of death. police launched an intensive manhunt for the killer. The body was discovered in a dark basement at 411 West 12th Street, tossed onto boards near a furnace area.
