Four Medora Men Die in Indiana River Crash
Four Medora area men died in a late Monday traffic accident on Ind 235 near Medora when their car plunged into White River. Victims were Winford E Daulton 51 Jack W Milton 40 Lawrence Lane 61 and Joseph Collier 43. Deputy coroner Burkholder said all died of drowning. Lt Whitsett said a passing motorist reported the car in the river with tail lights burning. The 1961 compact reportedly left the road 45 feet, hit a utility pole, rolled over and settled in five feet of water on its top. Page 9.

Girl and Father Burned In Family Fire Rescue
A four year old girl and her father were burned in a home fire at 615 Berkshire Road. The child was taken to Schneck Memorial Hospital by her mother after being saved from a rear bedroom where she slept. Fire officials said the fire centered on a bed and caused smoke damage throughout the house.
