County Schools Set Christmas Holidays

Brownstown Holiday Tournament Postponed

Brownstown Central High School athletic director James T. Blevins said the Brownstown Holiday Tournament is postponed due to bad weather. The first round moves to Friday at 6 30 p m with the championship Saturday night Brown County High meets North Harrison Friday and Brownstown Central faces Mitchell in the second game. The consolation and title games follow at 6 30 p m Saturday. The event was moved from Dec 26 29 because of a fuel shortage.

Children Have Three Days To Visit Santa

Children who have not yet placed Christmas orders with Santa Claus have three days left to visit at his headquarters in the Jaycee downtown mall on South Chestnut Street next to the Farmers' Club. Tonight he is available from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m and 4 to 7 p.m.

Hospitals to share Indiana portion of drug overcharge judgment

A $2.2 million judgment against five drug firms for tetracycline overpricing will fund Hoosier hospitals. Schneck Memorial Hospital in Jackson County will receive $15,299 and Dunn Hospital in Bedford $20,603, with 59 city and county facilities plus state hospitals sharing the rest. Indiana’s total cut spans 1953 to 1966.

Two Hurt In Auto Accident Near U S 31 And 50

Two people were injured in a one car crash on U S 31 about two miles south of U S 50. John R. Ebbing 21 and Rose Ebbing 20 were taken to Schneck Memorial Hospital with facial injuries and a dislocated hip respectively after the 1973 car left the road and hit a utility pole. Police report $2 000 damage. A separate two vehicle crash on South Chestnut Street involved a parked car and a school bus. minor damage was reported to the parked vehicle and the bus, owned by Seymour Community School Corporation, was headed north.
