Parents of Cox School in Washington township vote 8 to 7 to back state action to close the rural school after a fire marshal inspection. Dollens Car Damaged In Early Morning Flip-Over
A 1955 coach driven by George Earl Dollens age 20 of 302 North Elm Street overturned on a Free man Field road at 4 10 this morning after skidding on loose gravel. Police Officer Calvin W Theele investigated noting Dollens was attempting a right turn when the car skidded and flipped. The vehicle, owned by William Collens of 302 North Elm Street, sustained damage to the top left front fender left rear tire right door glass and left rear fender with an estimated total damage of 400 dollars.

Christmas Basket Drive Clears $540 for Seymour Needy
The 40th annual American Legion Seymour Tribune drive topped $540 with help from United Textile Workers Local. Volunteers will assemble baskets for families, with toy repairs by Seymour Boys Club and a Kiddie Show at Majestic Theater on December 24. Santa will greet children at the event.

19 New County TB Cases In 1958
A total of 19 new active tuberculosis cases have been discovered in Jackson County so far in 1958. The TB association seeks a county wide survey in 1959 and needs funds from the Christmas seal sale which has raised about 3200 of the 5500 dollar goal. Arthur T. Hit Run Driver Sought After Fence and Pole Damage
State police from the Seymour post hunted a hit run driver whose car left Redding Road near Rockford at 12 30 a m striking the Waskom fence and an electric utility pole guy wire. Power outages followed until repairs. Trooper Maurice L Wright led the investigation.

Three Killed In Headon Collision Of Auto Truck
Three railroad car inspectors from Niles Michigan were killed today in a head on collision with a big truck east of Mishawaka. The truck driver Robert De Graff 45 South Bend was booked on a charge of driving on the wrong side of the road after treatment for shock. The brick laden truck overturned spilling 17 1 2 tons of bricks in the crash on Ind 219 near Osceola. De Graff said he swerved into the wrong lane to avoid the car. The fatalities raise Indiana 1958 toll to 991.
