Pickup Used In Safe Theft Found
A Brownstown branch pickup truck stolen Friday night was recovered by sheriff officials after Fez Malloy reported it abandoned northeast of Kurtz. The vehicle showed no damage and no safe was found. the safe reportedly contained $565.06 when taken. State Police Detective Wayne Tolbert accompanied Sheriff Abel at the scene.

Funeral services for Dr. Forrest G. Kamman 44 of 416 Calvin Boulevard died Saturday at Sehneck Memorial Hospital will be held Tuesday. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Surviving are his wife Thelma Arbuckle Kamman and two daughters Judy Kay and Nancy Lee. He was born in Seymour August 7 1910 and was active in basketball at Shields High School and later in optometry with his father. He belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church Seymour Country Club and Lutheran Aid Society.

Man Fined After Hitting Train
Donald Brooks Henderson 18 of Columbus R4 was fined one dollar and 13.75 costs in justice court after pleading guilty to disregarding a railroad signal. His 1949 convertible traveling west on Second Street struck a northbound Pennsylvania passenger train at Indianapolis Avenue. Damage to the car was estimated at 400 dollars. the train suffered no damage. Henderson said he heard the train horn, applied brakes, and in reverse failed to stop, skidding 31 feet into the engine. Driver Charged After U S 50 Crash
Cortland man Corte Grant, 29, was charged with driving while intoxicated after a Saturday night crash on U S 50. His car overturned on icy roads injuring four passengers, with Grant suffering a broken arm. All others were treated and released from Schneck Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Set Tuesday For Franklin Killion
Funeral services for Franklin A. Killion 89 of Medora Indiana are set for Tuesday afternoon at Johnson Funeral Home Vallonia. He died Saturday night at his residence from complications after six days of illness. He was born February 9 1865 near Salem and moved to Jackson County in 1908 with a long farming life. He married Emma Harris in 1898 who preceded him in 1946. Survived by four sons four daughters 19 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The Rev Jim Brown of Vallonia Christian Church will officiate burial will be in Vallonia cemetery.
