Family Of Five Left Homeless By Fire
A Clearspring family of five including Mr and Mrs Glen Branaman and three children aged one to five lost their four room home on Brownstown R1 to a fire discovered just before 7 am by neighbor Junior Edwards. Firefighters from Pershing Township arrived to find the structure nearly destroyed and no one home. The origin is undetermined and items including Christmas presents were not saved. The Red Cross offered aid including clothing for the preschoolers. The family is staying with Branaman relatives, and this marks the second Western Jackson County homelessness in 15 days following December 4 fire at John Anderson’s Freetown home.
