Allman Found Guilty of Second Degree Murder
Royal W. Allman, 37, of Seymour, found guilty by a Jackson Circuit Court jury after about nine and a quarter hours of deliberation for the shotgun slaying of Sandra McFarlin, 19, at her Seymour apartment on June 29. The jury recommended life imprisonment with a future parole, and sentencing was set for Friday at 9 a.m. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.

Norma K. Kimberlin, 22, of Crothersville, injured when her 1955 model coach struck a parked pickup in Crothersville on U S 31 at 12 45 a m Tuesday. She was treated in Louisville Hospital for mouth lacerations and other injuries. her car was badly damaged. State police from the Seymour post investigated.

Medora School Closes Early as Water Shortage Hits Town

Cat Rescued After Four Nights In Tall Tree Rescue
A large gray Angora Persian mix cat was rescued by Seymour city firemen after four nights in a tall tree outside 306 Indianapolis Avenue. Trooper Robert O. Stanley coaxed the cat down on Tuesday night with help from his wife and daughter, and firefighter Boyne Williams completed the finale by removing it from the ladder. The cat then scampered away behind Mrs. Tabor's house.

Nowling Receives 60 Day Suspension and Demotion
