Levi M. Stanfield a 60 year old Seymour native living in Indianapolis died of head injuries after being struck by a car driven by Ray J. Gilles on West Washington street Saturday night Police noted several weekend traffic incidents around Seymour but none after Sunday afternoon due to dense fog creating hazardous driving conditions.

Fire Destroys Medora Area Home and Belongings
A house three miles west of Medora near Weddleville and all its contents were ruined by a late Saturday fire. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Reynolds, two daughters Elizabeth Ann and Margaret Fay, and Mrs. Reynolds’ nephew Melvin Smith lived there and faced a bleak Christmas with no insurance. The origin is unknown. neighbors saved meat and lard from the smokehouse before it burned. The family, awaiting housing, is staying with the Dick Lambert family while seeking a new residence.

Victim Refused Aid in Jail Death Probe
Investigation into the death of John L. Stewart 35 Indianapolis shows he refused hospital care after an auto truck crash on Alternate U S Route 31 north of Jonesville. Stewart left Schneck Memorial Hospital with police, and an autopsy found a skull fracture. He faced charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after the crash that injured four others. Slugged Jeffersonville Driver Returns Home
State police investigate the alleged robbery and car slugging of Charles Franklin Wyatt, a 28 year old Jeffersonville taxi driver. Wyatt said two colored men forced him to drive to Indianapolis after boarding in Jeffersonville, then battered him and stole about 20 to 25 dollars and his wrist watch before he wrecked near a US Route 50 junction.
