Woman hanged in Hull prison marks first in years
Forty two year old Mrs Fithi Lille Majer mother of two children was executed at Hull prison after final appeals to the King failed. The crowd gathered as the black flag and a solemn procession accompanied the execution at 9:00 p m. The jury had recommended mercy but the court ruled otherwise. Mrs Majer, whose husband’s funeral occurred nearby, proclaimed innocence to the end as two chaplains offered prayers before she was led to the scaffold.
