Residents in 38 southern Indiana counties vote today for 18 members of the first Southern Indiana Health Systems Agency board. Region XI CHP election selects two consumers and one provider from 23 candidates. voting runs noon to 9 pm at local sites including Schneck Memorial Hospital in Seymour and county courthouses.

Christmas Basket Fund tops $2 000 in fund drive
The 57th annual Christmas Basket Fund surpasses $2,000 with $2,049 raised to date after donations at Seymour National Bank and the Daily Tribune. Fund treasurer LeRoy Pollert says several hundred dollars more are needed to fill as many baskets as last year for the needy, with donations sent to Pollert or the Daily Tribune Office.

County Students Begin Two Week Christmas Vacation Friday
All county students will be dismissed Friday for a two week Christmas break returning January 5. Choirs and bands perform Christmas programs at multiple schools and a Friday evening junior high Christmas dance is planned. Santa Claus will visit several elementary schools and St John and St. John Lutheran plan programs around Christmas.

New York Receives 2.3 Billion Federal Loan Aid
President Ford signed a bill delivering 2.3 billion dollars in emergency federal loan funds to New York City to aid its financial crisis. The package is part of a 10.3 billion dollar supplemental appropriations measure allocating funds to many federal programs. Youth Injured In City Traffic Mishap In Seymour
A Seymour youth David B Defibaugh seven of 475 South O Brien street was injured Wednesday when he stepped into the path of a southbound 1968 sedan driven by Michael L Mosby 28 of 610 Ash street. He was taken to Jackson County Hospital for swelling of the left hand and pain in the right leg. Police also investigated two other accidents in Seymour causing about 420 dollars in property damage. A two car collision at 1 20 p m on South Chestnut street involved Carol R Fitzpatrick 31 of Seymour and Walter H Rust 81 of rural Seymour. Rust was northbound on Chestnut in a 1972 model car.
