Hijacked West German airliner lands in Damascus amid hostage crisis
BEIRUT reports informants say the Boeing 737 with Arab terrorists and hostages landed in Damascus after Lebanon refused Beirut landing. The hijackers killed at least 36 at Rome and Athens airports, firedbombed a Pan Am jet, and murderously pressed Greece to free two Black September suspects. Hostages aboard include crew, police, and airport workers.

Three Mishaps In Seymour Police Blotter
Three automobile accidents were checked by Seymour city police Monday. Fred Matthews 81 sustained a lip cut when his 1967 sedan collided with a westbound 1972 truck driven by Marcus Waskom 26 of Cortland at Sixth and Elm streets. Matthews pulled onto Elm and struck a tree after collision. Waskom’s truck and Matthews’ car sustained about 200 and 400 dollars in damages respectively. A second minor accident on West Third Street involved Donald East and Francis McKay with approximately 100 and 150 dollars in damage. McKay attempted a left turn but traffic prevented completion and East followed behind thinking McKay would finish the turn.
