Man and Boy Injured in Separate Seymour Accidents
Seymour and Tipton streets witness two injuries Friday. Hubert E. Sparks, 52, injured after his pickup collided with a Baltimore and Ohio freight train at Brown street crossing, suffering a fractured collarbone and head lacerations. Eleven year old John L. Boone, of 101 South Pine street, hurt after running into a car on Tipton street. Police report Sparks attempted braking but collided with the train. both incidents under investigation.

Court Hearing Recessed In Brownstown Injunction Case
A hearing on an injunction petition filed by Spartan Indiana Inc. Brownstown was recessed until Monday by mutual consent of attorneys. The petition seeks to stop harassment of employees, block driveway entrances, and curb verbal assaults at the plant. A restraining order was issued Dec 9 with a temporary injunction hearing begun Wednesday. Two witnesses have testified: George R. Semmole, Seymour plant manager, and Chet Esterline, plant supervisor.

Brownstown man injured in single vehicle crash near Cortland
A Brownstown man, Phillip Perry, 20, sustained head and back pains after a 2:33 a.m. single vehicle crash three miles west of Cortland on Ind. 258. Passenger in a car driven by Edward Tiemeyer, 21, the vehicle left the road after a dog ran into the highway, hit a utility pole, and suffered heavy left side damage. Police estimated the damage at $750.

Plane Crash Near Henryville Kills Pilot Walter Lowry
FAA investigators examined the charred eight place twin engine plane wreckage outside Henryville Indiana after a crash that killed pilot Walter E Lowry 41 of Bethel Connecticut. State police said Lowry appeared to be alone and the craft crashed Thursday night at the edge of a pond on the Glen Coombs farm 30 miles northeast of Henryville following reports of a loud noise and a large fireball seen by a witness.

Many U S Servicemen Come Home For Holidays
Up to 6000 American servicemen in Vietnam will spend Christmas at home under a new leave policy. Pan American and World Airways offer low cost charters to Oakland and New York for 14 day leaves, with round trips to the West Coast at 350 dollars versus 510 for a one way fare. The program, effective last month, adds to regular R and R but requires service members to cover their own return tickets when home leave is taken. Many GIs may be unable to go home due to cost constraints.
