A 12 of 57 B and O cars derailed near the Farm Bureau Co op in Brownstown causing all Seymour B and O lines to detour for about 48 hours. The mishap at 7:25 am involved a broken bolster on a tank car and disrupted 300 feet of track. Engineers Stanley Rodgers and Ray Anderson were aboard.

Robbery Believed Motive in Columbus Businessman Death
A Columbus businessman, John Lee Williams, 29, was found dead Thursday in a dry ditch five miles southwest of Columbus with minor facial injuries. Police suspect robbery due to missing wallet, papers, and a diamond ring. his car was parked at a nearby motel and he was last seen leaving a bar. Medical tests continue to determine the exact cause of death. Williams owned H. A. Williams Company with his mother Cleo Williams.
