Robbery Strikes Spurgeon's Grocery in Ewing
The Spurgeon's grocery store in Ewing was burglarized early this morning. Robbers forced a rear window, unlocked a door from inside, and fled with merchandise and watches valued at 150 to 200 dollars. Watches, shoes, overalls, shirts, hose, and cigarettes were taken. eight repair watches were stolen. Sam Brown, night watchman, found the scene around 3 am and notified Sheriff Meredith K. Stewart. Investigators found a heap of items dumped beneath the window with no definite clues yet.

Bruce Scott to be buried in Jackson County
The body of Bruce Scott, twenty seven, who was killed after a Dallas bank robbery, is to be returned to Seymour. Officials say a self-inflicted bullet wound caused his death, with another wound from a police firearm. Identification was confirmed by the Oklahoma prison warden in Dallas.
