One hundred fifty city school children will take part in candle light services in the Shields School auditorium at 4 oclock tomorrow afternoon. Pennsy Train Wrecks Auto Near Scottsburg Injures Couple
Mr and Mrs W F Bridgewater of Scottsburg were injured when their westbound auto was struck by a northbound Pennsylvania passenger train at a crossing near Scottsburg. Mrs Bridgewater suffered serious injuries, while her husband was slightly hurt. The train was delayed about twenty five minutes. Sherd Guernsey of Louisville, brother of local resident O S Guernsey, was the train’s conductor.

Spectacular fire recalls old Opera House blaze in Seymour
A row of condemned frame buildings west of the Pennsylvania station on Jeffersonville avenue recalls Seymour’s fiery past after a Tuesday blaze. The older Rooney Opera House fire in January 1880s burned for hours, started around 10:50, and was a total loss except for the south wall. Firefighters used cistern water and a steam engine given no fire plugs, with rail traffic blocked until crews fought the blaze.
