Traction Lineman Electrocuted in Scottsburg Incident
Earl Williams thirty five longtime Scottsburg lineman for Interstate traction died after being electrocuted while talking on a telephone at the car barns. Conductor Harry Holton narrowly escaped death as Williams completed a call during a high tension line fault caused by sleet. An investigation into the short circuit and possible contact between the 33000 volt line and the telephone circuit is underway. Williams survived by his widow and two children. he had previously worked at Greenwood before a Scottsburg transfer.
