An Austin man, Paul Baker, 26, was arrested by state police in Seymour Saturday on 10 or more counts of forgery. He allegedly tried to cash stolen checks totaling over 1400 dollars after authorities traced 18 stolen checks to a Seymour service station. Baker was jailed in Jackson County.

Several hundred people attended the dedication of Brownstown Elementary School and an open house held Sunday afternoon. Evan Bolejack gave the invocation, and the fifth grade choir performed. BCHS Choir Concert Set
Three Brownstown Central High School choruses will present the annual Christmas Concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the high school gym. The program features Christmas music through the centuries with slides of famous paintings.
