A Jackson county youth, Freddie Allman 18 Cortland Al, is in critical condition at Robert Long Hospital Indianapolis after a one car crash on Ind 135 south of Freetown. The 1955 coach car owned by Clarence Allman rolled over thrown from the vehicle and pinned beneath it, with damage estimated at $700. Trooper Raymond Lynch investigated. Dr. W. H. Stemm Dies After Fall at 95
Dr. W. H. Stemm, 95, longtime North Vernon physician and Schneck Memorial Hospital staff member, died at 8:25 a.m. after a fall at his home. He was hospitalized in a semiconscious state, struck the back of his head, and had been ill in a weakened condition. Funeral plans pending. He graduated from the College of Ohio in 1887 and began practice 69 years ago. He held many state medical society offices and led as former Schneck Hospital chief of staff. His influence extended through Jackson Jennings counties and southern Indiana.
