Seymour Council Votes Emergency Funds to Spur WPA Tile Work
The Seymour city council met again in special session to appropriate 408.45 from contingency to 400 for sewer tile and 8.45 for furnace repair. Mayor Burkart said the action would gain state board approval. Tile will serve a 200 foot deep cut on Fast Ninth Street to keep WPA workers busy through year end.

Robert E. Bryant 39 of Crothersville was fined 50 dollars plus costs totaling 62.70, and given a suspended 60 day penal farm term after arraignment in Scott circuit court for operating a motor vehicle under the influence. He was arrested after his car on U S Road 31 in Austin struck a parked car owned by Paul Clark.

Man Fined in Check Case for Malicious Trespass
Clifford W. Govert of Bloomington was fined 10.50 after a plea change from issuing a fraudulent check to malicious trespass in Brownstown Justice of the Peace John Russell's court. He must also repay 6.50 for a check to E M Ross and cover return costs from Bloomington. He was taken back to Brownstown by a constable on the warrant. Govert said a letter from a casket company prompted his trouble.

Walter Ray Dimmett of Evansville and two companions were arrested near Seymour for auto theft and two holdups. Dimmett received a one to ten year sentence in the Bartholomew circuit court after turning seventeen, with his birthday just prior. Two Peytonsburg, Kentucky residents faced alcohol related charges in John Russell Brownstown justice of the peace court.
