Funeral services for Newton Vaughn age forty one will be held Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Church in Jackson county. Vaughn died Tuesday night in Louisville from a ruptured stomach and peritonitis after allegedly being kicked in the stomach by Gillie Watkins. Watkins is jailed on manslaughter charges. Vaughn was a World War veteran and a former Indianapolis area brakeman. He is survived by his father a stepmother a half brother north of Medora and two half sisters in Indianapolis.

Harry and Herman Butcher of North Broadway were riding in a truck they owned when it plunged over an embankment at Port Clinton Ohio. They had been hauling for Interstate Tracking Company with Chicago headquarters. Butcher suffered minor injuries from flying glass.
