Mrs. Dorothy Mengler twenty six of Janesville and her seven year old son Omer died when their car was struck by a northbound interurban near Azalia. The crash injured no one on the traction car. Mengler's funeral is set for Wednesday with survivors including her husband and parents.

Funeral Wednesday at 2 pm led by Rev. A A Cohn. Burial Riverview Cemetery.

Barber slugged near home after Saturday ride
John Sprenger, a local barber, told Seymour police he was slugged and knocked from his bicycle near the rear of his Fifth street home around 10 o clock Saturday night. He reported no loot was taken and said his shoulder was injured in the assault.

City Court Faces Multiple Fines In Busy Session
Karl Hawkins pled guilty to carrying a concealed weapon and was fined 100 plus costs totaling 110 by Mayor W. Burkart. Sherman Helton received 100 and costs 110 for concealed weapon and 1 and costs 11 for public intoxication. Five defendants faced seven charges in the morning session at the police station. The concealed weapon fine set at the legal minimum. Earl Hawkins was also arrested.

Two Slightly Hurt In Crash on Ewing Street
Robert Taylor of Columbus sustained facial cuts and Luther Morris of Indianapolis Avenue suffered a minor hand cut when two cars collided on Ewing Street just north of Seventh and Ewing. Owens coach sideswiped Taylor’s vehicle before hitting a telephone pole near 700 Ewing. Both cars were damaged, with residents noting multiple recent accidents in that block.

Freight car ladder causes crash injuring no one in Uniontown
A left front fender was crumpled and the front axle bent when Marvin Boicourt of Uniontown was struck by a ladder on a freight car on a northbound Public Service Company of Indiana train at Second and Chestnut. Boicourt escaped injury as the ladder swung toward the curve pinned his light coach against a parked car.

The Seymour police log shows several thefts over the weekend. Robert and Mrs Baker reported a heavy coat, alarm flock and $3 in money stolen from their South Chestnut street apartment. Joe Day on West Laurel reported a Christmas tree stolen. Morris Davis's light touring car, stolen near the Seymour Clinic on West Second street around 10 PM Sunday, was recovered by night officers. Authorities have no clues yet.

In Tsinan Shantung Province China on December 17 Associated Press reports Mrs Stam and her husband were executed by bandits. Dr BK Scott father and Missionary from Holyoke Mass says the martyrs’ blood is the seed of the church. Their three month old granddaughter Helen Priscilla Stam survived. The Scotts plan to retrieve the child from Anhwei.

Two Men Held For Robberies in Bartholomew County
Roscoe Scott aged 23 and H EK Forgey aged 25 both of Freetown are being held at the Bartholomew county jail in Columbus after thefts alleged at the Old English Tavern on U S Route 31.
