A notorious Southern Indiana bandit who escaped an Oklahoma penitentiary reportedly was killed in a gun battle with a Dallas police officer. Details from the scene describe a fierce exchange ending with the bandit's death and investigations underway.
Charles Stanley known as Bruce Scott, an escaped Oklahoma prisoner wanted for murder, was shot dead by Dallas Patrolman J E Griffith after a pursuit linked to a stolen car. Stanley, long sought for bank robberies and the Indianapolis fireman slaying, had been identified in Oklahoma as Bruce Scott and linked to multiple crimes across Indiana.
Living pictures will be presented in the Riley school auditorium at 7:30 tonight with 150 famous paintings reproduced.
