Jackson School Burns Down In Midnight Fire
The Jackson rural school in Pershing township between Freetown and Spraytown burned to the ground around midnight. A visible blaze alerted Mrs. John Kindred, with many locals unable to save the one room frame building used for generations. Seventeen to eighteen pupils were reassigned to the Freetown school while trustees coordinate care. 18 pupils were enrolled at the Jackson school.

William J Ault aged 58 died at 2 o'clock Thursday at his home a mile northwest of Bobtown from a complication of diseases. A farmer, he was known across the northern part of the county. Survived by three children Millard Chasteen and Fred Ault of Bobtown and Charles Ault of Vincennes. Funeral 10 Saturday at Mt Healthy north of Waymansville.

Injured farmer gaigned arrest of auto driver
Price Graves, injured in last Friday evening crash east of the city, was arrested at his brother’s home this morning by Chief William A. Misch on a charge of assault and battery. He posted $500 bond and will answer in court when fit. The charge stems from a collision with farmer Carney Downs’ wagon, which was struck, throwing Downs from the wagon and causing injuries. The wreck demolished the wagon. one horse was killed, the other injured. The car caught fire after the impact.
