Noblitt Sparks Industries workers at Seymour plant contributed to the American Legion Santa fund on bonus day. The employer added 60 to reach 135.50 total, aiding the fund toward a Christmas for needy families.
Atlanta audiences awoke to the public premiere of the three hour and fifty seven minute film Gone With The Wind. Hollywood critics already praised it as a super colosal number and a poll of the 2 031 seat holders suggested strong enthusiasm for the blockbuster debut.
A convocation for pastors and laymen from eleven Indiana Baptist associations will convene January 23 at the First Baptist Church in this city from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event is one of six statewide meetings and one hundred across the Northern Baptist Convention to coordinate mission work. Noted speakers include Dr. F A Fridell and Dr. J R Wilson.
Jackson County 4 H Club corn growers competed in the annual county show at the Farmers Club. Richard Kuehn and Glenn Goecker won first in ten car and hybrid seed bushel classes. Eighteen awards were given from thirty five entries. Purdue specialist M Pence spoke at a corn school.
Mrs Louisa M Fehring widow of Theodore Fehring longtime operator of the Fehring Carriage Company in Columbus died at 10 50 am Friday at 225 Lafayette Avenue Columbus after months of illness Funeral services set for Monday at 1 30 pm at the home and 2 pm at St Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev A E Brauer officiating Burial in Garland Brook Cemetery Surviving are daughter Miss Gertrude Fehring two sons Fred of Columbus Lynn of Terre Haute and three grandsons Paul Theodore and Ray.
Ward A Brooks 37 whose body was found in a stream bed near Seymour will have funeral services Sunday at 2 PM from Tower Funeral Home with Rev. Amos L Boren officiating. Burial will be in Reddington Cemetery. Coroner and state police investigated. blood samples sent to Indianapolis for analysis.
In Rome, December 16, Foreign Minister Count Galeazzo Ciano said Italy remains out of the European war by agreement with Germany and stands ready to aid world peace if possible. He stressed protecting Italy’s land, air, and sea interests and criticized British French Russian talks, while endorsing a policy of maintaining peace in the Danube and Balkans.
Panama City AP reports President Juan Demostenes Arosemena died of heart disease at Penonome after an earlier stroke like attack on November 8. He had been treated, returned to work December 4, and died at age fifty nine.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gorman of West Second street road learn their cousin Mrs. Harry Gorman 58 of Malta Bend Me died Friday night. The Gormans will attend funeral services at 1 30 Sunday afternoon after traveling there by car. She is survived by her husband and one son.
Leonard Bedel aged 66 formerly of Uniontown died in Jeffersonville this morning. Relatives received the word and funeral arrangements have not been learned.
