Funeral rites for Rev H C Pearson set for Monday
The Rev. H. C. Pearson, 89, lifelong Jackson county resident, died at his home in Seymour Indiana on Friday after a yearlong decline from heart disease. A former preacher in the Nazarene church, he delivered a notable sermon November 5, his last in active service. Born November 6, 1844, he married Nancy E. Allen in 1865. they had ten children, two died young. He had continued to preach a final Sunday near his birthday.

Mrs Cravens Moved Home After Bartholomew Crash
Mrs Ella Cravens of Crothersville was moved from Bartholomew county hospital in Columbus to her Crothersville home Friday. Her condition is satisfactory. Her husband E E Cravens, injured in the WV 8 Road 31 crash on November 27, was arrested December 5 for reckless driving and released on a $50 bond. Mrs Cravens was seriously injured and Mr Cravens suffered a broken shoulder. The crash involved C S Smith of Indianapolis and one of his children suffered a broken neck.

Negro lynching after grand jury no bill in Tennessee
In Columbia Tennessee a 20 year old negro released after a Nashville grand jury declined to indict for an attempted attack on an eleven year old girl was found hanged near Glendale. Sheriff Claude Godwin received an anonymous call to come and get the body. The victim Cold Cheek was said to have been killed by a bullet and hanged after the no bill. Authorities offered no trace of the telephone caller and said the lynching was carried out quietly.
