Amos Donald, a farmer six miles southwest of town, was seriously hurt when a speeding car struck him while he fixed a tire on state road 31. He suffered a broken leg several ribs and head injuries and was unconscious for a time. The driver sped away after the impact.
A Bake-Rite bread truck skidded on ice and overturned in a ditch near Uniontown about 3 this morning. Driver Donald Bush narrowly escaped injury as bread, pies, cakes, and confections spilled onto the ground with little damage to the truck.
Dick Wagner of Jennings county pleaded guilty in city court to intoxication and was fined ten dollars plus costs. He was picked up by local police last night and jailed until arraignment this morning.
Alpha Class of the Methodist church hosts a chili supper on Saturday December 17 from ? to 7 in the former Steinwedel Building. Proceeds go to church activities and missions.
