Christmas Parades Draw Big Crowds in Medora and Crothersville
Medora held its fourth annual parade at 1 30 pm with about 35 entries including floats and animal units and a stop for awards. Notables included former Governor Edgar Whitcomb and Medora students. In Crothersville the Lions Club hosted the town’s first parade at 6 30 pm with nineteen entries and a high school program. Santa visited and gifts were given by merchants and the Lions Club.

A large crowd attended a Christmas music program Sunday by the Seymour Community Choir in the Central Christian Church fellowship hall. Director James Fritz reported a favorable reception and a post-performance reception hosted by Rev. and Mrs. Andrew Green.

Grand Jury to Review Evidence in Columbus Shootings
Bartholomew County Grand Jury is set to review evidence and weigh new charges in the Columbus shooting spree that left three dead. Morris Crum, 50, died Friday at Indiana University Medical Center from a severe abdominal wound suffered in the November 9 Paul’s Café attack. Arrested suspect Robert Paul Jones, 31, faces four indictments including two counts of first degree murder and weapon charges. The two earlier victims were Tybith Ann Campbell of Seymour and James G. Malone Jr. of North Vernon.

Two Vehicle Crashes Cause Two Injuries in Indiana
Two area traffic mishaps Sunday and today caused about 2200 dollars in damages and injured two motorists. John M Wetzel 18 of North Vernon and Donald J Luedeman 31 of 120 East Brown Street were taken to Schneck Memorial Hospital after their vehicles collided at the U S 50 and U S 31 intersection. Wetzel drove a 1974 auto west on U S 50 and turned left into the path of a 1967 auto.

Adrift in New York drew about 500 at Seymour high
Seymour High School Dramatics Club presented Adrift in New York in the school auditorium. Director Brantley Blythe called the Gay 90s melodrama a success as about 500 people enjoyed the performance, with the audience booing the villain and cheering the hero. The cast received a standing ovation for their work.
