Six Witnesses For State Open Evidence In Allman Trial
Jackson Circuit Court heard six state witnesses in the first degree murder trial of Royal W. Allman for the June 29 shotgun killing of Sadra McFarlin. The defense challenged details as prosecutor Earl C. Kline presented autopsy slides and testimony from the slain woman’s mother, Mable Downing, about family history and the night of the murder. The jury will remain sequestered over the weekend with trial proceedings resuming Monday.

Airliner crashes into neighborhood near Burbank killing eight
A four engine Flying Tiger Constellation en route from Chicago struck Laurel Canyon area near Lockheed Air Terminal in fog and plunged into homes.
