Snow covered ground and icy streets as a cold snap lowered temperatures to eight degrees overnight. One vehicle accident occurred on U S Route 21 near the Clara D Carter School injuring an elderly man. Trooper Normington investigated the single local incident while crews began snow removal after light accumulation began Wednesday night.

City police cited Coleman T. Allen of Butlerville R1 for failure to yield after his 1953 sedan collided with a station wagon owned by Seymour Cab Company and driven by Carl T. Court Orders 16 Cases Dismissed by Jackson Judge
Sixteen cases on the Jackson Circuit Court docket were ordered dismissed today by Judge John M. Lewis. Defendants include M. L. McConnell, Dale Planck, Thomas Lee Collett, Shirley Dailey, Charles Beaty, Frank Ora Davidson, Ervin Byarlay, George Arnold, Howard Peters, Herschel Goens, and Arthur Green among others. One hung jury disposition involved Howard Peters possession of alcohol. Arthur Green’s two cases ended in discharge and bondsmen released. The court also ruled for the plaintiff in Paul Nickless vs Ralph S Coe et al foreclosure, granting $714.85 plus $110 in attorney fees and ordering sale of the property.
