Eight Trucks Found Overweight in Check
Seymour state police post checked trucks at permanent pit scales on U S 31 east of Seymour Wednesday night and found eight drivers operating overweight trucks. Five drivers faced charges in city court before Mayor Donald L Herwig. four received appearance tickets and one was released on bond. The remaining drivers were cited into justice of peace court.

Shields High School lights up Christmas stained glass windows
From dusk to 11 each night through New Year’s Day the north and south windows at Shields High School display religious scenes depicting the Wise Men and a Bethlehem manger. Nine by thirteen foot panels use transparent paper for a stained glass look. Art students under Charles R. Hunterman designed and painted the scenes, with ideas sketched in class and shared on page 8 column 4.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Mitchell Falk 69 of Bedford were held at Elmwood Chapel with burial in Green Hill Cemetery. She was born June 28 1880 in Jackson County and survived by a brother James Browning two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
