Seymour city faces delays as ten street department employees go unpaid for five weeks. A state tax board official pledged to urge quick approval of a 2100 transfer from the general fund to specific departments to meet payroll.

Ray Gingrich of Lafayette Indiana a prominent grocer and owner of a chain of stores was killed in an early morning crash two miles north of Oxford Indiana when his car collided with a whiskey truck. His companion Martha Palmer also of Lafayette died in the accident. Gingrich aged forty two and Palmer aged thirty two are survived by families including Gingrich widow three children and siblings.
George W. Riley was named Excellent High Priest of Sey mour Chapter No. 85 Royal Arch Masons at the annual election in the Masonic Temple. He succeeds Ira Haas as head of the chapter with Charles R Brown as King and Theodore P Cordes as Recorder among the newly elected officers for the coming year.

France joined the semi annual procession of war debt defaulters today and expressed hope it might start negotiations for a settlement. The note to R Walton Moore cited distressing economic depression and world relations as reasons it could not yet present proposals.
Helsinki Finland December 15 Finance Minister Juho Ninkkanen stated Finland will continue sending its semi annual loan installment to Washington and that Finland is repaying United States and all other loans because debts are payable when due.
