Henry A. Otte longtime Jackson county resident died in Madison at 1 am after five days of bronchial pneumonia following a hit run crash on US Road 31 near Carter's corner east of Seymour on October 24. He suffered a fractured hip and other injuries. no vehicle was found. Otte, a Dudleytown native, operated a store before moving to Seymour to work in a dry goods shop.

Young forger and gar thief sentenced in reformatory
George Moore of Danville pleaded guilty to vehicle-taking and forgery in Bartholomew circuit court.
