Apollo 17 lunar farewell ends a decade of exploration
Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt completed the last Apollo moon surface walk spending 22 hours 5 minutes on the lunar surface and collecting 334 pounds of samples. They spoke of peace and humanity's future as Ronald Evans orbited the Moon aboard the America and Apollo 17 prepared to splash down in the Pacific December 19.

Annexing Freeman Field Proposed for Seymour City
The Seymour Board of Aviation Commissioners discussed annexing Freeman Field to the city to aid industrial expansion. Woman Hurt In Rural Crash Near Freetown Indiana
A Norman woman, 67, Ruby P. Howe, injured Wednesday in a single vehicle wreck on Ind 135 one mile south of Freetown. Her pickup veered off soft shoulder, struck a Public Service Indiana pole. she was taken to Bedford Medical Center with rib pain and knee and arm cuts. Damages totaled 700 to the truck and 200 to the pole.
