Seymour city council adopted three ordinances during the regular meeting. Ordinance 1625, by a 7 0 vote, restricts parking, removes meters, adds a four way stop at Ninth and Broadway, and creates a loading zone on East Third. Ordinance 1626 ratifies an engineering contract for a new railroad underpass off Community Drive. Ordinance 1627 rezones land on U S 31 from suburban to C 4 roadside business. Mayor Laupus noted the next meeting for December 27.

Americans Freed by China Return Home After Release

Sheila A. Hughes 18 of 418 East Ninth Street drove a 1964 compact east on Fifth failing to stop for a stop sign and hit a northbound car driven by Gerald D. Schenkel 54 of 2201 Heideman Drive. Hughes was treated for a shoulder pain and thigh contusion. damages totaled 600 on her car and 750 on Schenkel's. Hughes was cited for reckless driving.
