Council Begins Annexation Steps In Nichter Addition
Seymour common council approved the first reading of an annexation ordinance covering a large west end area including the Nichter addition. The Crothersville school system will receive 11270.49 dollars under Title 1 of the 1965 Federal Aid Act to hire part time teacher aides and support remedial reading for 790 students. The funds allow adding a third grade teacher to ease crowding while continuing existing programs. Mrs. Thomas MacPherron began duties as a third grade teacher to free others for instruction. The district is said to be the first in Jackson County to obtain Title 1 support.
