Man Injures Hand Opening Drum at Work
William Bean, 24, of 119 Windhurst Court, treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital for a gash on the fourth finger of his right hand after opening a 55-gallon drum at 8 30 a.m. He was released. Robert Pfeffer, 40, of New Albany, twisted his ankle stepping from a scaffold while working for I Bush and Company. X rays were ordered. he was released.

Firemen Quell Blaze in Burning 1939 Pickup
Seymour fire crew extinguished a fire in a 1939 pickup owned by Robert Williams of 504 South Poplar Street. The truck stopped at Second and Walnut streets when flames erupted from a burning battery cable. Minor damage was confined to the floor panel.

Trooper and Youth Hurt in Seymour Crash Near U S 31
A Seymour post trooper and an 18 year old youth were slightly injured when their eastbound vehicles collided about 4 40 p m near the U S 31 junction. Trooper James Keith Miller 31 Crothersville and Louis Allan Wilson 18 Scipio Ribeth were examined at Schneck Memorial Hospital. Miller suffered knee neck and hip pain while Wilson had a head bump and left shoulder bruise. Wilson faces a Seymour justice court charge for failing to signal a left turn.

Steel has arrived for the north set of dual lane bridges on a relocated U S 31 south of the Kriete curve southeast of Seymour. Two Cars Collide On Wet Intersection
Seymour police report a two car crash at West Second and Elm streets at 9 15 this morning. Clifford H Wiethoff of Seymour drove a 1947 two door sedan and turned left onto Second Street from Elm Street into the path of Richard C Murphy of Seymour who drove a 1953 sedan. Murphy struck Wiethoff on the left front causing about 10 dollars damage to the Wiethoff splash pan and about 75 dollars damage to Murphy’s front grill bumper guard and right front parking light.

Former Residents Own Burglarized Store In Salem
The Salem Pekin Feed Company in Salem owned by Harold Schepman and Martin Junior Plump, both former Seymour residents, was burglarized Tuesday night. The safe was wrecked and $253 in cash stolen, with checks scattered across the floor. A Salem school and a hardware store were robbed the same night as investigators from Washington County Sheriff Office Salem police and Charlestown post state police conduct the inquiry.

Allman Pleads Guilty and Is Fined in Circuit Court
Otho Allman pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle without a license in Jackson Circuit Court. He was fined 10 dollars plus costs and sentenced to six months at the state penal farm, suspended on good behavior and a no driving condition.
