Seymour Santa Parade Crowns Christmas Queen and Treats Thousands
Thousands of Seymour residents plus visitors from Jackson county watched a 3 PM Santa Claus parade led by police escorts and a color guard. Afterward about 2,000 children received treats from Santa at a West Second Street log cabin. Miss Geraldine Galati was crowned Christmas Queen by Mayor-elect Stanley Switzer with attendants from local high schools.

Mile of Pennies Day Set for Saturday in Jackson County
Jackson county officials announce the annual Mile of Pennies Day to be held Saturday. J R Mitchell president of the Jackson County Tuberculosis Association leads a drive for funds through Christmas seals and health bonds. Schools across the county cooperate and prizes will go to top participating groups. Children have until 4 pm Friday to finish campaigns and bring proceeds to Seymour for the penny line on Second Street between Chestnut and Indianapolis avenues. The campaign runs from Thanksgiving Day through Christmas and invites public pennies on the line.

Students hear Indiana educators at Shields convocation

To Play Benefit For Santa Fund at Shields High
Four Seymour Industrial Basketball League teams will play a double header at Shields High School gym Thursday night to aid the Legion Santa Fund.
