Highways in Jackson county show much better conditions as crews clear snow on U S 31 and SW routes. Officials warn of continued cold with a new cold wave expected, but no immediate heavy snow.

Officials who will lead the 1933 Boy Scout work in the Seymur district have been chosen after the resignation of W A Dorsett as Executive for the Hoosier Hills Area. An executive board and committee chairs including J R Thompson N J Lasher T H Montgomery Rev A A Cohn DeWitte Ogan and Francis J Birge were named. Meetings will be held monthly with plans for a Troop carnival in progress.

William B. Gallemore died at 5 a m in his West Palm Beach home after a yearlong illness. Former Seymour ice cream factory founder, he moved to Florida eight years ago and engaged in real estate and dairy ventures. Survived by widow and three daughters, funeral services planned in West Palm Beach Friday.
In Kreencastle Indiana alumni planning to visit the Phi Gamma Delta house at DePauw University are told to show credentials after a prowler entered recently and stole 820 dollars while undergraduates mistook him for an alumnus.
Jackson county Jersey cattle breeders plan a December 20 meeting at the Farmers Club in Seymour. The event, part of a statewide Indiana Jersey program, features a noon meal, a short business session, and a WOWO radio broadcast at 2 PM with speakers including George W. Sissons and Dr. W W Yapp. Volney Carter invites local farmers and business people to attend.
Indianapolis detectives traced M Glover of Leesville after a telegram found on a man led to his arrest in California. Bouillie aided by revealing Glover's funds and a request to telegraph money from Santa Fe. Glover was captured in San Bernardino en route to Santa Fe. Additional suspects Evans and Anderson tied to other Indiana bank robberies.
Mrs. Mary Waldron and her son Charles Waldron of Bloomington are in town for the funeral of Mrs. Waldron’s brother identified as S. P. Shiel.
Auto license plates for 1933 will go on sale next Monday December 19 announced by Mrs Margaret Burton manager of the local license branch. Plates are maroon with white verals for 1033 and retain last year’s prices 5 to 10 dollars based on car size and power. Purchasers must show a poll tax receipt and vehicle title before license may be issued and chauffeur licenses for 1933 must be bought before January 1.

John F Shiel aged 78 a longtime Seymour hide and leather merchant died at 317 East Second Street after a ten month illness. He led the Hide and Leather Company for over fifty years and helped build Seymour’s first street fair and the local harness trade. His son John F Shiel Jr returned from Indianapolis to run the business. He was born June 24 1854 in Indianapolis and married April 30 1900 at Stilesville Indiana.
Mrs Martha Zielinski twenty four collapsed and died at her Cleveland home fearing a telegraph telegram would bring bad news. The telegram was for a neighbor and the messenger asked for the correct address.
