A fire at the Davidson Feed Service and Elevator in Freetown damaged the new building opened last June. Earl Davidson estimates loss at 15 000 to 20 000, partly insured, with grain and elevator machinery destroyed. Local residents fought the blaze alongside Bartholomew county rural, Jonesville, and Nashville fire departments. Brownstown and Seymour departments were alerted but did not respond.

Two Injured In One Car Mishap Near Dudleytown
Claude Palmer 19 and Alvin Wolfe 24 were injured in a Monday afternoon crash on State Road 250 about 1.5 miles east of Dudleytown. Palmer suffered facial cuts and chest injuries while Wolfe had facial lacerations and a forehead gash. Both were treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital. troopers Norman to and Epler investigated the out of control sedan that halted on its side in a roadside ditch.
