Seymour police announce solved burglaries at the Newby Dairy Company on Jeffersonville avenue and the theft of a suitcase from a city truck. A 16 year old youth was found inside the dairy building by City Detective George Webel after a Monday close. Terrell Rites Held for Staff Sergeant Marion E Terrell
Funeral services were held at Dodds Funeral Home in Paris for Staff Sergeant Marion E Terrell 33 son of Mrs John Darin and the late Frances Terrell. He died December 8 at Walter Reed Hospital Washington D C after battle with a brain tumor and long illness. Born May 25 1916 in Bloomington he moved to Paris Crossing at age four and lived there the rest of his life. He served in the Philippine Islands fought in Bataan survived the Death March and was held as a prisoner in the Philippines and Japan until war end. He re enlisted in 1946 and served as recruiting sergeant in Indianapolis later hospital stays led to final hospitalization at Walter Reed. Survivors include his mother stepsisters and stepbrother listed from Paris Crossing Ausable Clarksdale and Bandy Virginia and Austin Texas.

Defense Testimony In First Degree Burglary Trial
Defense testimony occurred in Jackson Circuit Court at Brownstown as Clyde Walters Jr. 21 faces a first degree burglary charge for allegedly breaking into Neal Robertson’s home on October 26. James Edward Roles 17 of Mount Hope West Virginia pleaded guilty to a related burglary and received a one year sentence at the state penal farm due to his age.

Miss Etta Elizabeth Probst 58 of Columbus died Sunday night at Bartholomew County Hospital after seven weeks as a patient. Native of Waymansville she lived in Columbus most of her life and worked 27 years for Reliance Manufacturing Company. Funeral 1:45 p m Wednesday at Flanigan and Reed and 2 p m at St Peter’s Lutheran Church with burial at Clifty Cemetery. She is survived by a stepmother a brother a half brother and a sister.

Youths Survive Freak Lightning Strike on Road
Two Bloomington youths riding in a car were unharmed when lightning ripped the top off the vehicle Monday night. Driver Kenneth Underwood, who was behind them on Unionville road, said he saw the bolt strike and ripped away the top. Trainman Fired for Fatal Gary Accident
The Michigan Central Railroad discharged Engineer M. L. Redding and Fireman Angus Pettingill for running a westbound train between the platform and an adjacent train at Gary Indiana station.
