Rita Murphy Dies At Home Near Uniontown
Rita Kay Murphy age three died Wednesday night at 7 30 at her parents home two and a half miles north of Uniontown after a two week illness. Survived by parents Edgar and Mrs Murphy and brothers Bobby Darrel and Larry Mardin. Funeral 2:00 Saturday at New Hope Church with Rev Joe Campbell officiating. Friends may call at the Murphy home.

No Permanent Free Permits For War Veterans Yet Available in County
Jackson county will issue permanent free hunting and fishing permits to war veterans as soon as they are received from the state. The state Department of Conservation announced the program and instructed conservation officers to honor permits before January 1 under 1945 legislature authorization. County Clerk Albert H. Horstman said the county will process permits once they arrive from the state.

Ex County Man Gossman Killed by Auto in Jennings County
J Henry Gossman age 78 of Brownstown township Jackson county died from injuries after being struck by a car on State Road 7 in Scipio Jennings county. Funeral details list Scipio Presbyterian Church then Vallonia Cemetery with burial in Vallonia. Survived by widow Hallie Gibson Gossman two daughters Marie Keene and Mrs Flossie Smith a son in Vallonia and other relatives. The incident involved Clarence Sones of Indianapolis driving north. Born January 16 1867 the former Vallonia merchant later farmed in Jennings county. Funeral arrangements note casket will be opened at the cemetery.
