Japanese Accept Responsibility for Panay Sinking
Shanghai December 13 The Japanese navy accepted full blame for the air bombardment and sinking of the U S gunboat Panay and two Standard Oil ships. It voiced profound regret for what it called a terrible mistake. One American sailor died from injuries inflicted by the bombardment of Yangtze craft about 25 miles above Nanking.

Albert Robertson a 29 year old of Columbus pled guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was fined 20 dollars with costs 30.65 suspended license for six months and sentenced to two days in county jail. Police arrested him Friday on U S Road 31 50 near Seymour.
