Known Dead From Lansing Hotel Fire Thirty-Day Toll
State police reported twenty eight known dead and twenty three bodies recovered from the Nemris hotel ruins in Lansing. Sixteen bodies were identified before officals faced the ice led debris. Eleven victims were pulled from the ice covered debris of a popular meeting place and most remain unidentified beyond personal effects.

Funeral Rites Conducted for Mrs J B Anthony
Word arrives of the death of Mrs Jerry B Anthony of Tulsa Oklahoma. Funeral services were held there Wednesday. She and her husband moved from Seymour about twenty five years ago and lived with her niece Mrs F Wayne Hancock in Tulsa. Mrs Anthony grew up in Scott County Indiana and was active in the Methodist Church. They had no children but were guardians to Mrs Hancock who lived with them since childhood.

Ruling Upheld In Ward Insurance Case Appeal
The Appellate Court affirmed lower rulings in the Ward insurance dispute involving Pearl Mo Ward and Carolyn Jo Ward widow and daughter of Charles N Ward. Edward P P Elsner represented the widows after Charles Ward died at Seymour Woolen Mills on June 23 1933. The case began with a claim for compensation insurance and progressed through hearings before the state industrial board and the full board to the appellate court. Funeral services for Charles P. Robertson a Brownstown resident who died Tuesday night at Methodist Hospital Indianapolis will be held Friday at 2 PM from his Brownstown home. Rev. T. J. Hart will conduct. Robertson born Tampico December 27 1850. Survived by widow a daughter two grandsons one brother and two sisters. He was postmaster of Brownstown for nine years and led Brownstown Loan and Trust Co. and served in local lodges.

John Wadsworth reports his grocery at the northwest corner of Ewing and Fifth streets was entered sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday. About 20 dollars of tobacco and chewing gum were stolen after a pry broke the front door lock. This marked Seymour’s first report after several thefts this season.
