Amos Funeral Rites To Be Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Paul D. Amos, 38, of 726 North O'Brien street, will be at 2 PM Wednesday from Tower and Burkholder Funeral Home with Rev. C R Lee of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial is in Riverview Cemetery. Amos, a former machine operator at Arvin Industries plant here, died Monday at Madison after a two year illness. He is survived by his widow and six children.

He placed third in the district of 132 dealers, earning six box seats to the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs and $100 for Derby expenses. Mrs. Plummer won $50 as his wife.

Three West Virginia Men Rescued From Car Fumes
Seymour night police saved three Rand men from carbon monoxide after they slept in a running car in West Tipton street. Harry Patton aged 35 and Henry Patton 26 were treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital, the third man J R Spencer 38 was released without hospitalization after the 1 35 am incident.

Highway talk by district engineer informs Rotary club
Jerome Dustin of the Seymour district of the Indiana state highway commission spoke to the Seymour Rotary Club. He reported U S Road 31 southeast of Seymour would not open December 15 as planned and that bridge floor pours were delayed by weather. He noted the Muscatatuck overflow bridge will be 24 feet wide and that dual lanes are intended as far as Columbus with northward progression from the Ohio River based on traffic counts.

A statewide recount began this morning at the Brownstown county courthouse for the clerk of the circuit court and county sheriff in 40 precincts. Recount commissioners Everett Lane J A Obb Green and William R Forgey started with Driftwood Township ballots, with counting to extend over several days.

Scouters Plan Track Meet and Court of Honor
Western District Hoosier Hills Area Council scouters met to outline a joint indoor track meet and Court of Honor to be held between Christmas and New Year. Funeral services for Harry Stradley 58 a former resident of this city were held in Augusta where he died Saturday. Burial followed in Augusta. Stradley resided here until about two years ago moved with his family to Augusta a WWI veteran and former Seymour Woolen Mills employee born November 13 1892 he was survived by his widow Eula Pittman two daughters Opal Cummings and Geraldine Cowan a son Richard one grandchild two sisters Mrs Herbert Kysar and Mrs Mattie Dean and a half sister Mrs Martin Pferrer. A daughter from a former marriage preceded him in death.

Eugene Trimble, 40, of Indianapolis, was arrested Monday on U S Route 31 two miles south of its junction with U S Route 50 by Trooper Frank B Gray of the Seymour state police post. He faces a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor. The charge was filed in Jackson Circuit Court at Brownstown.
