Rites Held For Victims Of County Crash
Funeral services were held this afternoon for two youths killed in a truck auto crash at a county road intersection 4.2 miles south of Dudleytown. Norman Kasting aged seventeen remained unconscious in critical condition at Schneck Memorial Hospital, while Arthur Chandler Jr. aged seventeen showed some improvement. John G Laupus III, seventeen, and Lawrence Wayne Wheeler, fourteen, were buried in Riverview and Fairview Cemeteries after services at local churches.

One local colored youth is sent to Louisville for pre induction examination before entrance into the armed forces. Man In Critical Condition After Bicycle Accident
Martin Lain, sixty eight, of Columbus, brother in law of Mrs Will Snyder, is in critical condition with a fractured skull after his bicycle collided with a car driven by Robert Lee Roberts, nineteen, of Cortland. The collision happened at Thirteenth street and Hutchins avenue as Lain rode to his job at Wendel Brothers. A brain specialist performed emergency surgery.

Hoevener Memorial Rites Set At Sauers Church
Memorial services for Pfc. Lawrence L. Hoevener will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sauers. Hoevener, killed in action in Luxembourg on December 16, 1944, entered the army March 5, 1942. He was born December 3, 1915 and married Eunice Hunt January 23, 1942. Surviving are his widow, a two year old daughter Connie Jean, parents Henry and Minnie Hoevener, three brothers Arthur Wilbur and Roy, four sisters Mabel Mildred Thelma Farr and Agnes Brand, with Roy serving in Japan.
