Columbus Man Hurt In Early Morning Crash
George Byland of Columbus was treated at Schneck Memorial Hospital for a leg cut from an automobile wreck believed to have occurred on State Road 9 about four miles north of the U S Route 31 junction. Officers Branam and Williams found no occupants at the scene and continued investigating.

Former County Man Moseley Dies At 63 In Columbus
Walter C. Moseley, 63, a Bethany neighborhood resident formerly of Crothersville, died Saturday night at Bartholemew County Hospital after six weeks of illness. Born November 30, 1876 in Scott County, he was a farmer and Methodist. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Church with burial in Bethany Cemetery. He married Millie Helms on October 11, 1899, and is survived by five children Velma Armstrong of Ottawa Illinois Alias Moseley Tremont Illinois Inez Christie Beatrice Rider Harold Moseley of Austin, a half brother James Moseley of Montana, and two half sisters Rosella Sparks of Crothersville and Sarah Jane Sparks of Jennings County.

Verdict of accidental death in Mrs Austin death case
A verdict of accidental death was returned by Deputy Coroner SS F Tower in the death of Mrs Mary Theresa Austin age sixty six who was killed Thursday afternoon at the Laurel street crossing of the Pennsylvania Railroad when struck by a switch engine. The train crew and others were questioned before the verdict. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 PM from the Tower Funeral Home with Rev R S Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Riverview Cemetery.
