Prisoners Escape From Leavenworth with Warden Abducted
The Associated Press reports six convicts escaped Leavenworth prison in a dash for freedom. They abducted Warden T B White who was shot in the arm and left on a roadside. Two Die as Tornado Strikes Texarkana Area
A Texarkana Arkansas tornado killed J. E. Hardin and Mrs. Vera C. Perry and injured several others. The storm struck one mile north of town demolishing homes, blowing the Hardin and Perry residences, with children found in a field and a parent trapped under wreckage. Young Hotel Clerk’s Suicide Plan Foiled in Columbus
