Car Collision In Salt Creek Bottoms Damages Bedford Driver
A 1942 model coach driven by Dayton O. Hall of Bedford collided with a 1941 model coach driven by William Lynch of Brownstown on State Road 37 north of Bedford. Estimated damage to the Hall automobile was $100. Lynch’s car was undamaged. Investigating state and county officers reported the front of Hall’s vehicle was smashed.

TB Campaign Seeks $5,000 in Jackson County Seals Drive
Jackson County Tuberculosis Association reports $3,186.08 collected so far in the Christmas seal and health bond sale. Most receipts come from Seymour with additional funds from Brownstown Crothersville and Vernon townships. Campaign opened November 22 and runs to Christmas Day, about half complete with many pledges and mail-in payments still expected.

Rites Saturday For Lt. Hamer
Funeral services for First Lieutenant Frank Leo Hamer will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Ochs Funeral Home in Orleans with burial at Hamer Cemetery Spring Mill State Park. Hamer, a bomber pilot, was killed on his 36th mission over Austria on May 10 1944. He was born October 28 1922 in Mitchell and later lived in Orleans after graduating from high school. He attended Purdue University for a year before joining the service. He is survived by his parents Frank and Josephine Marley Hamer of Orleans a sister Nancy Hamer of St. Louis his paternal grandmother Mrs Hamer three uncles and three aunts. Mr and Mrs Marley and Mrs Hamer left for Orleans today.
